On the 11th of August, Manurewa Intermediate sent their brightest and most enthusiastic to Everglade Primary school to compete for the coveted Manurewa Intermediates School's Year 7 and 8 Mathex cup.
After a rocky start with our team stumbling over the first question, they persevered and flew through the following 3 doing an amazing job of catching up. Our tireless runner Azaylea outpaced the other teams to catch us crucial seconds towards the end of the race.
As the timer ticked down all teams were clearly feeling the pressure. A final countdown and the race was done with an incredibly close score, however, MI emerged victoriously. A fantastic result. Congratulations to Azaylea, Arnav and Amy from Room 69 and Harry from Room 20. They showed amazing teamwork and made MI proud.
