Yesterday our year 7 and 8 boys competed in the Counties Zone Football competition. The year 7's scored some great goals and got better as the day went on but were unlucky in the end losing out to some top-quality teams. The year 8 team went from strength to strength winning their group and getting into the playoff final against Pukekohe. The year 8's showed great determination and the game went to extra time after a one-all draw. After no score in extra time, the game went to penalties. Every penalty taker scored their goal and Marcel Webb saved every attempt from Pukekohe. The year 8's are the Counties Zone winners, next up Auckland champs! Both the year 7 and 8 teams were respectful and gracious all day, they are a credit to their school and their whanaus!
