"An Auckland school will officially open its own skate park tomorrow. It'll be used by students at Manurewa Intermediate and the wider community.
It was the students who came up with the idea and went out and raised the money.
The staff at Manurewa Intermediate believe in encouraging its students to chase their goals. The new skate park is the result of an idea first suggested more than five years ago.
"I had to skate to school," says former student Weeru Rosieur. "When I got here I just started skating around and realised it would be a 'mean' idea to have a skate park around here."
